We are living in strange times; world hunger, inflation, tornadoes, dog-fighting Athletes, lying politicians, people popping out a litter of 8 kids at a time. The last thing this world needs is bad web developers. If it takes you 12 lines of javascript code to accomplish what should really be 15 letters, you're doing it wrong; you're making this world a horrible place to live in.
Dear Prospective employer,
Scenario: You hire an average mediocre web developer and ask him/her to build you a site; they do the job, the site matches the mock and looks acceptable to the average eye, but in reality the homepage is loading 1.46 seconds slower than what it should, because your developer did not know how to optimize... Mr. Solomon Stevens lives in a small town in Arkansas, he is a small business owner, he lives with his wife of 14 years, 3 wonderful children, and a cat name Line-O. It's a normal Sunday morning, Mr. Stevens is browsing the web, and comes across your site. He's waiting anxiously for the page to load, but it's taking longer than it should.. 1.46 Seconds longer to be exact. Lion-O is begging for Mr. Steven's attention, but Mr. Stevens is waiting for the site to load. Lion-O gives up runs outside to play with what turned out to be the neighbhor's lawn mower. The rest is history..
Is Mr. Stevens to blame for the tragedy? Is he the reason his children will not speak to him. NO. It's your fault for hiring a web developer who build a site that did not load fast enough. Hire me, and the world will be a better place to live in.
